Happy New Year

This was my first New Years in LA and I found it a gentle and sweet place to be. Maybe it's not having to be in the packed streets or subways of Manhattan, with drunk, emotional people all around.

Los Angeles has surprised me this year. Mostly all the nature - I've spent so much time in the sun and in nature. On hikes in the canyons, reading in parks. I'm in love with a city that's as big, fast and brassy as it gets, but that co-exists without fuss, alongside so much glorious mountain scenery and trails.

I have several brand new, but very solid friendships. And there's been a deep, sweet ripening of my dear old Los Angeles friendships that feels so important. I've found authenticity, openness and beauty where I didn't expect it.

Happy New Year !

NYC misses you... just for the record! Hey Lara-- love your blog and especially the infrequency of the posts. It's refreshing to think of people still out there in the world doing stuff rather than just posting or tweeting or whatevering. Just bought your CD and am anxiously awaiting it's arrival. Good girl for getting it done. You are a true inspiration. xox Brooke
